Updating the regulatory framework for water supply and wastewater disposal in Ukraine

A new edition of the Procedure for developing schemes for optimizing water supply and wastewater systems has been developed, which takes into account modern challenges and needs of the industry. The document was prepared by specialists from the Institute of Communal Infrastructure - an institution specializing in strategic planning, technical analysis and regulatory support of documents in the field of housing and communal services, in particular:
- Hydraulic modeling
is for accurate analysis of network capacity, low pressure areas and water losses;
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
is for spatial analysis of infrastructure, mapping of sources, accidents and risk areas;
- Assessment of the technical condition of objects
is based on passports, examinations and expert opinions;
- Financial and economic analysis of enterprises
The analysis takes into account such characteristics as tariffs, investment programs, and credit load.;
- Emergency and martial law scenarios
during the development of emergency scenarios, various options for linking the resilience of enterprises are considered: backup schemes, autonomous sources, response plans;
- Compliance with European directives
Our company is guided by leading European directives on water quality, resource management and climate change adaptation.
Optimization schemes developed by the Institute of Communal Infrastructure will become a strategic planning tool for communities, allowing them to form technical tasks, investment projects, applications for funding, etc..
The document has been agreed with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Association of Local Self-Government Bodies “Association of Cities of Ukraine”, the Joint Representative Body of Employers’ Parties at the National Level, the Joint Representative Body of Representative All-Ukrainian Trade Union Associations at the National Level, the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Association of District and Regional Councils of the All-Ukrainian Association of Local Self-Government Bodies, the State Ecological Inspectorate of Ukraine, the State Agency of Water Resources of Ukraine.
